Privacy Policy

GasPulse is a simple gas-price tracker made by an independent developer (Misha). Your privacy matters, and the app is built to need as little of your information as possible.

The short version

• The GasPulse app requires no account or sign-up.
• The app has no ads, trackers, analytics, or advertising identifiers.
• The app works without collecting personal information about you.
• The app does not send personal information unless you choose to submit feedback. It still makes ordinary network requests to download gas-price data.
• This website uses anonymous, aggregated, cookie-free traffic analytics.
• Your information is never sold.

Information the app does not collect

The GasPulse app does not require an account and does not track you. It does not use advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking technologies, and it does not collect your location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers.

Information stored only on your device

To work, the app saves a few preferences locally on your device using the system’s standard storage. This never leaves your phone. It includes things like the state you last selected, and small counters the app uses to decide when to (rarely) ask you to rate it and to avoid sending duplicate feedback. Deleting the app removes all of it.

Gas-price data

The app downloads weekly average gas prices (originally published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration) from static files hosted on GitHub Pages. This is an ordinary web request and does not include any personal information about you. As with any website, the hosting provider (GitHub) may record standard technical logs such as IP address; GasPulse does not have access to or use that information.

Feedback you choose to send

GasPulse includes an optional “Send feedback” form. Only if you choose to use it, the app sends:

• the message you write;
• your email address, but only if you choose to enter one (it is optional);
• your app version and iOS version, to help understand and reproduce issues.

This is delivered through Formspree, a third-party form service, which forwards it to the developer’s private inbox. It is used only to read your feedback and, if you provided an email, to reply. It is not used for marketing and is never sold or shared. If you do not use the feedback form, none of this is collected.

Website analytics

This website uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand anonymous, aggregated traffic such as pages viewed, referring site, approximate country or region, browser, operating system, and device type. It does not use third-party cookies, advertising identifiers, or persistent cross-site profiles, and GasPulse does not use this information for advertising. Vercel processes this data as the website’s hosting and analytics provider.

Third-party services

• GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.) hosts the gas-price data files the app downloads.
• Formspree delivers the feedback messages you choose to send.
• Vercel hosts this website and provides anonymous, aggregated Web Analytics.
• Google Fonts provides the Inter typeface used by this website. Loading it requires an ordinary request to Google’s font servers.

Each service has its own privacy policy governing its handling of data.

Children’s privacy

GasPulse is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices and data deletion

You can use the entire app without providing any personal information. The website’s analytics are anonymous and cookie-free. If you have sent feedback and would like it deleted, contact us (below) and it will be removed.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, this page and the “last updated” date above will be updated.
