The story

Direction, not another map of pumps.

Most gas apps answer “where is the cheapest station?” GasPulse answers a different question: “what are prices doing?” GasPulse is a trend tracker rather than a station finder.

It makes official weekly U.S. Energy Information Administration data approachable through a tactile, native iPhone interface. People can compare states or regions, move through weeks, months, years, and five-year history, and see whether the latest trend is rising, falling, or holding steady.

GasPulse was designed and built independently by Misha Belstar, a product designer focused on making dense information feel simple, useful, and enjoyable.

Beyond the app.

Version 1.1 adds Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Siri and App Shortcuts, StandBy, landscape layouts, and optional weekly price-change notifications for the areas you follow.

Follow up to six areas and receive a combined weekly digest when prices change; delivery depends on iOS background refresh. macOS widgets remain planned. Read the full 1.1 release notes.
